Minco is seeking two Inspectors for our 1st shift Heaters Production department. This position performs inspections within area(s) of assignment. They inspect products based on standards, identify problems, and complete appropriate documentation.
Reads instructions, documentation, and other information to determine appropriate inspection or testing requirements and equipment, and receives assistance understanding more complex instructions.
Performs inspections in the area of assignment, such as welds, tolerances, or etching, verifies conformance to instructions, and identifies quality concerns; inspections are typically less recurring and receives assistance on technical or more complex instructions.
Operates the majority of the equipment and tools in the area to perform the inspections; receives direction on unfamiliar equipment.
Identifies parts for rejection or rework; provides recommendation if problems or defects are one-time events or on-going assembly concerns that require potential corrective measures.
Completes appropriate paperwork and/or enters limited data regarding inspection results, requirements, and other actions to ensure records and actions are accurate.
Handles and labels tools, materials, and equipment according to safety and operational principles and practices; individuals are also responsible for handling and labeling hazardous materials based on area of assignment.
Assists with maintaining a clean and safe working environment and may perform various janitorial or housekeeping tasks within work area.
Complies with operating policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment, quality products, and efficient operations; may require the employee to wear safety, sanitary, and related equipment or gear.
Assists with providing training on limited equipment, documentation, and inspection processes within the area; continues to learn other areas and processes.
Performs other duties as assigned.
High school graduate or equivalent education and experience is preferred.
Ability to read, write and comprehend English at an 8th grade level.
Ability to comprehend basic math, dexterity, and color recognition.
Two years of inspection or related production experience
Basic knowledge of Lean concepts is preferred.

Performing a variety of inspections within the area;
Operating the majority of the inspection equipment and tools within the area;
Identifying problems with the production result or process;
Demonstrating the ability to perform basic math;
Demonstrating the ability for visual elements, such as color, measurements, and shapes;
Demonstrating the ability to perform manual movements that require dexterity and motor control;
Following verbal and written instructions;
Following safety and operational guidelines, policies, and procedures;
Handling and labeling hazardous materials based on area of assignment;
Understanding of basic PC skills, such as data entry and operation is preferred;
Communicating with co-workers to provide and receive direction.
Physical requirements:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
