The Account Manager will manage relationships with multiple clients in key business segments, including Apparel, Grocery, Office Supplies and General Merchandising. The Account Manager will work across all levels and functions within the organization and will work with several partners, including retailer's Marketing Strategy, Replenishment, Merchant, Consumer Insights and Business Intelligence teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing analysis, delivering presentations, presenting insights and new capabilities and providing training on tools. This position must be able to understand the client's business issues, pain points, and strategies and must have a working knowledge of all client tools and capabilities, in order to proactively identify opportunities to the sales team. This position will also work closely with relevant business counterparts within the organization to deliver superior service. Must be self-motivated and detail oriented.
Responsibilities
Ensure overall client satisfaction with service, actionable insights, data application and deliverables by managing relationships at the retailer and leveraging all available resources to build a reputation for excellent service and positive referrals.
Evaluate how client products and services can address the retailer's key business issues.
Provide project leadership for the client's major initiatives. This could include supporting presales evaluations, helping to define quantifiable expectations for implementations or ensuring successful service delivery by serving as primary contact or project manager.
Manage cross-functional project teams and proactively communicate customer and project information within the account team including Sales, Product Management, Implementation and technical support.
Ensure that successful projects continue beyond implementation to solution adoption and ongoing customer satisfaction.
Maintain high level functional knowledge of the entire products and services.
Qualifications
Retail or CPG marketing or merchandising processes experience necessary
5 plus years' experience in a client development capacity for a retailer or CPG business development experience would be beneficial to the role
Ability to manage client expectations and to deal with difficult internal and external issues
Solid presentation skills to large groups
Communicate effectively with all levels
Strong organizational and project management skills
Planning and conducting business reviews and information sessions that tie into the client's key initiatives
Expertise in all MS Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Very strong technology user
BA / BS or equivalent
Willingness to travel up to (40%)
