The Parks and Recreation Facility Monitor ensures all customers have a positive experience and successful event while renting our facilities.
This position will monitor guest during events, ensure facility capacities are not exceeded and will be available to answer questions and provide support when needed.

Works under the general guidance and direction of the Recreation Supervisor to monitor Civic Center events, private events in parks and tournaments, all while providing courteous customer service to users.
This is a variable hour, nights and weekends position that may average up to 10 hours per week or more, depending on how shifts are divided amongst staff.
Candidate hired to the position will work 4-8 hour shifts, including the following:
Weeknights between 4 pm and 10pmFridays between 4pm and 1am (12 am in 2024)Saturdays between 8am and 1am (12am in 2024)Sundays between 8am and 10pmPosting will be open until filled.

Civic Center & Riverwind Community Building:
Reviews the details of events scheduled for the Civic Center and Riverwind Community Building and confers with Recreation Facilities Coordinator to ensure a common understanding of what is occurring, when it is occurring and what is expected from the facility.
Ensures and monitors maximum room capacities are not exceeded.
Ensures alcoholic beverages are not being consumed, unless preapproved.
Coordinates and oversees scheduled activities by walking through facility and being available to answer questions or provide additional customer service.
Monitors facility users to ensure compliance with City Center usage policies and reservation schedule.
Routinely walks through facility without being intrusive to protect the mutual interests of the City and facility users by providing safe events that proceed as scheduled and planned.
Required interventions are consistently handled firmly but with tact and diplomacy.
Provides courteous customer service to users if requested.
Examples of tasks include directing users to appropriate rooms, assisting with room set ups, monitoring bathroom facilities, locating needed equipment, trouble shooting in the event of power outages, equipment malfunction, communication issues, etc.
Ensures there is no loitering in the halls.
Performs various set-up and clean-up responsibilities so that the facility is kept safe, clean and ready for the next event.
Customers consistently find the facility clean and ready for their use for their respective events.
Sets up special furniture and equipment arrangements per reservation requests.
Performs light maintenance tasks such as garbage removal, bathroom clean up, vacuuming, dusting, and clean up following events.
Ensures that turnarounds are done quickly with minimal disruption.
Shovel walk ways as needed.
Responds to accidents or emergencies in a calm and controlled manner.
Ensures facility is properly secured each evening to safeguard facility from theft and vandalism.
Follows established emergency protocol which results in quick and appropriate responses.
Assists Recreation Facilities Coordinator by providing tours of the facility and distributing reservation packets.
Accesses client rental data on computer as needed.
Records if damages to the facility occurred.
May be responsible for meeting with prospective renters and giving a guided tour.
Park Shelters, Athletic Complexes and Tournaments:
Travels between multiple rental events occurring simultaneously, in City-provided vehicle, to monitor locations, connect with customers and do light cleaning as necessary.
Connect with park shelter/athletic complex renter and see if there are any issues and remind them of park rules and policies.
Check restrooms for supplies and garbage.
Light cleaning if necessary in the restrooms.
Monitor park for any violations during the time there, before traveling to next facility.
Report violations to 911 if necessary.
Remind renters to recycle and put garbage in proper receptacles.
Travel to next park shelter or rental facility to repeat these steps with the next renter.
Document issues of uncleanliness or issues with park shelters/athletic facilities after renter has left the premises.
Take photos as necessary for documentation.
Report findings to supervisor to be dealt with the next day.
General:
Follows oral and written instructions such as supervisor's work orders and equipment operation manuals.
Regular and reliable attendance during scheduled work hours and outside regular hours as necessary.
Maintains positive professional working relationships with the general public.

Checks out customers collecting checklist and reviewing for any violations that may result in damage deposit forfeiture.

Qualifications and Other Information MINIMUM
Qualifications:
A combination of training and experience substantially equivalent to the following:
oHigh school diploma or equivalent.
oMinimum one year's customer service experience.
oExcellent communication and organizational skills.
oStrong work ethic.
oValid Driver's License PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:
oExperience monitoring or overseeing public or private rental spaces and/or events.
oExperience setting up room spaces, tables, etc.
oEvent scheduling experience.
oMaintenance or general custodial experience.

EQUIPMENT/JOB LOCATION:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
This position will be located at the City Center.
Grounds maintenance work including but not limited to shoveling and trash pickup is performed outside in seasonal temperatures and conditions.
The position will use common office supplies and equipment, and the noise level can vary, depending on the Civic Center users.
Exposure to computer monitors in the office is typical.
This position works closely with others.
