The role is responsible for coordinating and directing supervisors, team leads and manufacturing personnel to meet demands while maintaining consistency, quality and cost metrics.
This position will enforce safety policy, develop production plans, effectively utilize labor resources and ensure inventory levels are maintained.
The Production Manager must excel at selecting, training and motivating an effective and efficient staff while fostering innovation and continuous improvement.

Customers first Raise the bar Lead by example Ensure work-life balance Profitable growth Tactical performance of plant Drive improvements in our safety program to develop a culture of injury free attitude Plan, organize and direct optimum day-to-day operations through coaching and staff development Oversee production staff, including staffing plan and hiring/training of personnel Support Lean Initiatives through identifying activities and prioritizing Kaizen events Drive improvements in output, asset utilization and flexibility while maintaining cost control by execution of lean initiatives, root cause analysis and corrective action Manage systems and processes that track and optimize productivity, reduce waste and improve quality Create and ensure compliance to detailed process maps and standard work for key manufacturing processes.
Capacity Management Ensure staffing levels and skillsets are adequate to meet demand and capacity targets.
Coordinate with sales, engineering and supply chain to ensure timely delivery of information and materials required for execution of production schedules to meet customer expectations.
Develop creative solutions to short term capacity issues.
Work with leadership on the identification and selection of needed equipment or other capital expenditures Training Ensure proper depth levels for all manufacturing processes, including succession planning for key positions.
Demonstrate ownership of employee onboarding process with focus on engagement, cross training and ongoing individual development.
Teach Lean tools, including Kaizen, 5S, and 8 Wastes to manufacturing personnel.
Visit other facilities and external training programs for ongoing personal development.
Continuous Improvement Lead by example embracing change and continuous improvement to develop production buy-in Analyze and communicate performance tracking data and continuous improvement efforts Drive Lean initiatives Partner with internal groups to drive improvements and take advantage of all available resources WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Proven working experience leading teams in a metal fabrication / contract manufacturing environment required Proven ability to motivate and develop employees Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, resource allocation, human resources) Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise Personal experience in kaizen events Knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes Computer literacy Ability to create accountability and to lead by example Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills Job Type:
