Mia is seeking Studio Assistants for multiple programs over the next six months.
These roles will be filled on an as-needed basis over this 6-month period.
This listing has an estimated end date of February 29th, 2023 or until the roles have been filled.
The Job Assist classroom instructors in studio classes and workshops for all ages by preparing art materials for class and assisting with instruction and supervision of students in studios and galleries.
In this role, you will Assist Instructors by preparing art materials and studio spaces before class, taking attendance, assisting participants following instructor's direction, and cleaning classrooms following programs.
Keep studio and storage areas clean and neat.
Assist with maintaining inventory of art materials and reception supplies and alert staff when supplies need to be ordered.
Display participants' artwork in the studio and set up materials and equipment for program receptions.
Supervise students as they move through the galleries, during lunch periods and other breaks.
To be successful in this role, you have the following qualities:
Excellent service skills and written, verbal, and oral communication Team player Positive attitude Self-motivated and results driven Agility and ability to work well under pressure and with a variety of personalities.
Ability to work well and effectively with all museum departments and community members.
Specific Requirements Familiarity with art materials and art education methods.
Experience working with specified audiences (e.
g.
, young students, older adults, intergenerational).
Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
