Summary:
As the Chief Product Officer of the company, you are responsible for developing and implementing the Star Tribune's product and technology strategy.
A dynamic thinker and accomplished leader, you assess and identify emerging developments in digital technology and mobile products/services, leveraging new technology and building products that ensure our content can reach more people more seamlessly than ever before.
A change agent, you'll work with the CEO and senior leadership to guide the Star Tribune through a transition as a print-majority news organization to a modern digital media company.
You'll grow and lead a team of developers, product managers, designers and engineers to define product vision and development towards a vision of making the Star Tribune the top regional destination for news in the country.
You're coming on board at a critical inflection point for our company in which this new leadership role will be a central leader in our transformation.

Develop and implement the organization's product strategy and integrate digital into all aspects of the business (e.

Grow a great team into a powerhouse technology division that leads the way to a digital future.
Build a culture of innovation and experimentation that is consistently curious about new technologies and their application to media.
Oversee products from concept through deployment.
Own the product design, engineering, UX, and product teams who work with the newsroom and business leaders to meet company-wide objectives.
Drive a metrics-driven goal-setting process to set a vision and measure success towards performance goals.
Develop product plans, schedules, and milestones, ensuring on-time delivery.
Ensure the functionality of products that meet customer needs and requirements, while maintaining the organization's standards of quality and performance.
Evaluate technical feasibility, design optimization, and production issues.
Develop and implement a continuous improvement program and drive improvements in the product family based on market feedback and further innovation to ensure the product family continues to grow.
Serve on the Senior Leadership Team of the company, building company strategy with the CEO and a cross-functional group of leaders across sales, marketing, key business functions, and the newsroom.

Qualifications:
Several years of product management experience with a track record of excellence Bachelor's degree; MBA or advanced degree in engineering, technical product management or related field a plus Proven experience as an executive leader in a dynamic environment Strong expertise in product management, including product strategy, roadmap development, and product lifecycle management Track record of successfully scaling a technology-driven team, preferably with expertise in the areas of content or media platforms Strategic planning, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, interpersonal, negotiation and decision-making skills Leadership to motivate and influence a team to achieve ambitious goals Strong working knowledge in AI/ML/meta dataMore about the Star Tribune:
