Position Summary Ensures competitive and cost-effective benefits policies and practices by leading a wide variety of complex projects involving the design, pricing, financing and ongoing evaluation of the full spectrum of health and benefit programs. Leverages subject matter and project management expertise to assist management in the development and implementation of corporate-wide strategies to achieve improved wellness and understanding of programs in all aspects of the business. Essential Responsibilities Data Analysis and Strategic Planning:
Complete benefit plan analyses supporting the development of design, cost savings and funding strategies. Ongoing plan management:
Perform financial analyses independently and in partnership with our external benefits consultants. Act as the primary Subject Matter Expert and manager of the healthcare data warehouse. Conduct benchmarking studies and other research; provide value added analyses and summaries. Research industry and company data, analyze results, and make recommendations to management. Vendor selection and management:
Provide data and analysis in support of selection, negotiations, contracting and contract management with vendors; validate and manage performance guarantees; identification of systems requirements; etc. Work with vendors to define working relationships, ensure appropriate systems are established, company objectives are met, and monitoring and reporting processes are in place. Rate Setting:
Lead medical plan rate setting in consultation with vendor partners. Budget Management:
Manage and oversee the healthcare budget in partnership with department leadership and the finance organization. Support claims management and audit processes. Track and report high-cost claims; monitor pending large claims. Collaborate with Benefits Finance team to anticipate changes in funding requirements as necessary. Compliance:
Ensure vendors are administering benefit plans in accordance with regulatory and legal compliance. This includes but is not limited to the company's obligations around ADA, FMLA, DOT Regulations, ERISA, HIPAA and COBRA and required written documentation such as SPDs, SMMs, SARs, plan documents, non-discrimination testing, government filings, etc. General Business Support:
Leverage subject matter and project management expertise to assist management in the development and implementation of corporate-wide strategies to achieve improved outcomes. Build strong relationships with business partners. Contribute to the development of new tools and approaches. Other projects as needed. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Six years of progressively responsible benefit program funding and analysis or equivalent experience. Strong leadership, planning and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to make solid business judgments and provide data-driven guidance on priorities and technical implementation; and proven interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interface with individuals and groups at all levels of both internal and external organizations. Preferred Experience with health care data warehouse management, benefit plan compliance issues and processes, in-depth knowledge of program ROI, plan performance, guarantees, and Service Level Agreement measurement.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
