Lead Transportation Planner

This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for a Lead Transportation Planner for our Minneapolis, MN office.
The following locations will also be considered:
Kansas City, MO; St.
Louis, MO; Madison, WI; and Chicago, IL.

We have an immediate opening for a highly skilled, experienced and motivated transortation planner.
The Lead Consultant is expected to lead or assist with various types of multimodal projects including roads, transit and rail.
Based on their technical specialities, they may be called upon to contribute to environmental planning, urban planning, or public engagement work for our public sector clients.
This position will work closely with planning and environmental staff in Minnesota and across WSPs central region to research, analyze, document and present information related to various types of transportation projects.
Candidates with existing connections to and work in the Minneapolis transportation market are preferred.
Additional key responsibilities of this position include helping to manage projects and tasks, mentoring staff, building and maintaining client relationships, and participating in business development activities to help achieve the sales, revenue, and project delivery goals in Minnesota, which is part of WSPs West Region.
The successful candidate must be a team player and a self-starter, demonstrate strong analytical, communication, collaboration, technical, supervisory and business skills, appreciate a diverse array of project work over time, and have a demonstrated working knowledge of land use issues and jurisdictional authority, roadway, transit, freight, and rail project studies, as well as the associated planning and implementation processes for Minnesota local, regional and state agencies.
Your Impact Assisting with project management and successfully delivering projects, including staffing, budget and quality.
Collecting, analyzing and interpreting analytic and written data (i.
e.
land use, freight, economic, demographic, fiscal, legal, natural resources, etc.
).
Composing correspondence and reports for project activities.
Technical writing and report preparation.
Participating and coordinating public and stakeholder public meetings and public participation/outreach processes.
Developing strong working relationships with clients and teaming partners.
Managing and mentoring staff.
Collaborating extensively with other business units within WSP for business development and project delivery.
Who You Are Required Qualifications Minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in transportation, transit, and/or land use planning and policy work.
Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Planning, Geography, Public Policy, or a related discipline is required.
Knowledge of, and experience with, municpal, county, regional and statewide planning processes.
Knowledge and demonstrated use of freight data.
Ability to effectively present and communicate ideas orally and in written form.
Critical, strategic and creative thinking skills.
Computer skills (i.
e.
MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
GIS knowledge.
Ability to gather, organize and analyze data critically and develop supporting information and reports.
Understanding of project administration and management.
Possess a high level of energy, enthusiasm, and positive attitude.
Must be a team player.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience working with Midwestern public agencies highly preferred, notably Departments of Transportation (Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin), Metropolitan Planning Organizations (Met Council, CMAP, East-West Gateway Council).

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
