Senior Proposal Writer - Remote Position Overview Direct Travel is looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and experienced Senior Proposal Writer to join our Corporate Communications team.
In this role, the Senior Proposal Writer will provide RFP support to maximize new business and client renewals for both domestic and global bid opportunities.
We are looking for a passionate and ambitious storyteller who can embrace this role and join a fast-paced team focused on providing value to our prospects and clients by crafting the ultimate Direct Travel experience.
This is a fully remote position.
Responsibilities Independently support the development, production and submission of all bid opportunities including responses to RFIs, RFPs and open-ended invitations to bid on travel management solutions.
Gather relevant and sellable information; evaluate and edit existing verbiage; create new proposal language; and solicit contributions from appropriate areas within the company to be used for compelling bid responses.
Develop and create high-quality, message-driven documents, including executive summaries, commitment letters and custom proposals.
Develop clear, unique, and powerful strategies to support unique client-driven deliverables.
Interface closely with Sales and Account Management teams, and coordinate with key decision makers to determine concept, strategy and timeline for each bid opportunity.
Manage the production, shipping and management of all RFP deliverables.
Provide editing, proofing and graphic design support.
Provide team support for initiatives outside the bid process, including but not limited to:
website content, client communications, white papers and press releases.
Actively and independently maintain job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and maintaining professional networks.
Qualifications Technical Experience/Education A minimum of 5 years of proposal writing experience (business travel industry, preferred).
Experience with proposal automation software (Loopio, preferred).
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign required) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Clear understanding of market landscape (including, but not limited to:
competing TMCs, industry suppliers, fundamental knowledge of industry technology).
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business or a related discipline.
General Attributes Excellent writing skills are essential to this position.
Candidate must submit a minimum of three (3) original writing samples.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Creative and articulate with superior attention to detail.
Self-starter, able to work independently and able to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Positive, proactive individual and cross-functional partner who can easily collaborate with the team and multiple departments.
