As a Permanent EHS Leader, you will be responsible for driving the safety culture within our dynamic engineering environment.
Your role will be pivotal in implementing, managing and maintaining environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards and corporate policies.
You will be the go-to person for all EHS matters, providing guidance and support to all levels of the organization.
This role is not for the faint-hearted; it requires a proactive, hands-on approach to ensure the safety of our team and the environment.
Responsibilities:
1.
Develop, implement, and manage EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, industry standards, and corporate policies.
2.
Lead and facilitate EHS trainings and awareness programs to promote a strong safety culture within the organization.
3.
Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
4.
Respond to and investigate EHS incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring timely reporting and follow-up actions.
5.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into project planning and execution.
6.
Liaise with regulatory bodies and represent the company during EHS audits and inspections.
7.
Keep abreast of new regulations and industry trends in EHS, and update company policies and procedures accordingly.
8.
Provide regular EHS reports and updates to senior management, highlighting key risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
9.
Drive continuous improvement in EHS performance through effective tracking and analysis of EHS data.
Qualifications:
1.
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
2.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in an EHS role within the engineering industry.
3.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation or equivalent is preferred.
4.
In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and standards, including OSHA, EPA, and ISO 14001.
5.
Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to drive EHS initiatives and influence a safety culture.
6.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and work effectively with all levels of the organization.
7.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, complex environment.
8.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management systems.
9.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and managing risks.
10.
Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and manage crisis situations.
11.
Physical ability to conduct inspections and audits in various operational and field environments.
