Power Systems Specialists $62K-93K Salary

Our client is seeking a self-motivated Power Systems Specialist for their operations in Minnesota.
We are looking for individuals with excellent problem-solving and communication skills who can work well in a team environment and independently.
We are willing to provide training for candidates with a keen interest in electricity and power.
Traveling is done up to 90% of the time.
$62K-93K depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
Conduct ground grid testing and medium voltage cable testing.
Service and test transformers, relays, breakers, switches, and other electrical apparatus/systems at utility substations and industrial facilities.
Troubleshoot and test control circuits, communication systems, protection systems, and other electrical apparatus.
Perform breaker and relay retrofits.
Ability to interpret prints and control/protection schemes.
Complete and submit reports accurately and timely.
Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
Associate's Degree in Electrical Power or Electrical Engineering.
Proficiency in computer and phone skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on client/customer needs.
Valid driver's license.
Effective communication skills.
Extensive travel required; up to 5 days/week with overnights possible.
On-call duty required approximately six times per year.
Preferred:
Prior experience in a similar position.
Electrical and mechanical aptitude.
Physical Demands:
This position requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, crawling, and reaching frequently.
Aerial work may be necessary, such as working on ladders or scaffolding.
Occasional lifting of heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.
).
Frequent use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
Must adhere to applicable safety practices for the site.
Uneven or slippery walking surfaces.
Must be able to wear proper PPE (i.
e.
, hearing protection, safety glasses, hard hat, etc.
).
Additional Information:
Our client will provide a vehicle or a stipend for a vehicle.
Some relocation assistance may be available.
