Job Description:
As a Municipal Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the planning, design, and implementation of various infrastructure projects within the municipality.
You will collaborate closely with local government officials, urban planners, and other stakeholders to ensure the efficient functioning and development of public works projects.
This position requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and a commitment to community development.
Responsibilities:
Lead the planning and design of municipal infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, water supply systems, and wastewater treatment facilities.
Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimates for proposed projects.
Ensure compliance with local regulations, zoning laws, and environmental standards.
Coordinate with external consultants, contractors, and government agencies throughout project lifecycles.
Oversee construction activities to ensure adherence to specifications and timelines.
Perform site inspections and address any technical issues or concerns as they arise.
Evaluate existing infrastructure systems and recommend upgrades or repairs as necessary.
Provide technical expertise and support to municipal officials and staff.
Keep abreast of emerging technologies, best practices, and industry trends in municipal engineering.
Foster positive relationships with community members and stakeholders to address their concerns and priorities.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure within six months of employment.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably with a focus on municipal infrastructure projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant engineering software.
Strong understanding of municipal codes, regulations, and permitting processes.
Excellent project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing deadlines.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated leadership abilities and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Scale:
$90,000 - $130,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
