Night, 4 8 Hours Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Room (ER) is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in emergent and critical situations. They assess patients, administer treatments and medications, coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, and ensure timely and effective responses to medical emergencies. The ER nurse must possess strong clinical skills, critical thinking abilities, and the ability to remain calm and focused on high-pressure situations. Responsibilities Asses patients upon arrival at the emergency department, including triaging patients based on the severity of their condition. Perform initial and ongoing physical assessments, including vital signs monitoring, neurological assessments, and pain assessments. Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols. Monitor patients for changes in condition and intervene promptly to address any complications or deterioration. Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans. Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes. Respond to medical emergencies within the facility, including cardiac arrests, traumas, and other life-threatening events. Requirements BLS ACLS TNCC ENPC or PALS NIHSS from AHA RN license in MN Recommended Skills Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Acls) Assessments Basic Life Support Certified Nurse Practitioner Clinical Works Critical Thinking Apply to this job.
