Director, Consumer Insights - North America Foodservice
As the Director, Consumer Insights for the North America Foodservice (NAF) Segment, you will lead a team responsible for representing our operators, distributors and foodservice industry overall, bringing strategic thinking, foresight, and analytics to guide the direction of the Segment and its brands throughout the year.
Importantly, this customer-facing role will also be responsible for leading the coordination of cross-functional teams to build category-winning strategies to be implemented across our foodservice customers, including our largest Retail Foodservice customer, Walmart.
You will be the objective and provocative voice with the business and leadership team.
You will be relied on to bring expertise on operators and the marketplace with an emphasis on future orientation of where our businesses should go.
You will also be charged with proactively bringing external inspiration, both in how our businesses compete and how we learn/generate insights.
Additionally, you will lead and develop a team of industry-leading marketplace and insights professionals that deliver competitive advantage for the business.
This role's primary work location is onsite at our Minneapolis World Headquarters 2-3 days per week, with flexibility to work from home based on business and personal needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Active member of the North America Foodservice (NAF) Senior Leadership Team that enables operator-centric decision making by bringing expertise on operators, foodservice industry and the marketplace, with an emphasis on foresights and behavioral signalsProvide thought leadership on the Consumer Market Intelligence (CMI) Leadership Team, collaborating across Segments and CMI COE's to bring insights to uncover new growth opportunities and incite actionBuild credibility and influence decision making against key operator learning with Leadership Team and business teams.
Compel bold action with foresights and evidence of shifts in the consumer landscapeHelp to build the 3-year strategic direction for the Segment through data, analytics, insights, and foresightsProactively bring forward external inspiration, both in how our businesses compete and how we learn and generate insightsIdentify, define, and size (when appropriate) channel growth opportunitiesAccountable for understanding competitive effectiveness in communication investment, category performance and new product development.
Providing guidance and insights that results in improved spending, in market optimization and agilityAdvance General Mills learning approaches/best practices; identify gaps in current methods or analyticsLeverage data and insights and use your analytics and compelling storytelling skills to create and execute strategic customer recommendations, in alignment with joint prioritiesDevelop category and retailer data and insights through data analysis and reporting with a specific focus on our largest Retail Foodservice customer, Walmart.
Use category data and insights to create compelling stories that will drive strategic recommendations, advance category sales, and deliver exceptional results through the Walmart modular relay processOrganization Leadership / People ManagementCoach, develop, and support direct reports (6 managers)Lead the collective NAF Insights organization (19 employees total), integrating our CMI and Category Management teams and optimizing ways of working acrossDevelop the team learning agenda for the Segment and ensure appropriate resources are being deployed for the highest priority projects in the Segment.
