Brief Posting Description







Mortenson Construction in Golden Valley is currently seeking to hire an experienced System Administratorwho will help support a mid-sized environment consisting of VMware, Windows Server 2008, Red Hat Linux and NetApp storage. This individual will function in a team environment that manages the ESX hosts, Citrix Server farm, Windows/Linux Servers, and two data centers. Our environment features over 100 physical servers and over 350 virtual instances. Our ideal new team member will possess 5
years of experience in a System Administrator Role.



Detailed Description







Managing host system, servers, and distributed facilities:
Manage and maintain Windows, Citrix, VMWare, SQL Servers
Monitor system and user processes
Recommend hardware and software as needed to maintain the system
Assist with server backup and restore processes
Maintain virus monitoring and protection on all servers.
Performance Accountability:
Minimum server downtime.
Optimal server performance.
Maintain documentation of server configurations.
Procedures
Follow change management processes and procedures
Update documentation when changes are made



Required Qualifications







Basic
5
years of experience in a System Administrator Role
Windows Scripting knowledge (vbscript etc)
High level of expertise of Windows Server 2003/2008
Wide Area Network experience (TCP/IP,LAN)/Active Directory

Preferred:
Red Hat Linux or Unix administration
VMWare VSphere , VCenter and SRM
NetApp/ IBM N series storage
HP and Cisco server hardware
Provide high quality customer service
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Works well under pressure in a fast paced environment
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
VMware certifications (VCP)
Microsoft certifications (MCSE)
Symantec NetBackup experience
Certificate Infrastructure (PKI)
Quantum disk-based backup devices
Citrix XenApp , XenServer, PVS
Linux/Unix Server experience
SSD storage devicesEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
