The individual will work on getting the latest security patches from vendors, packaging them for distribution, testing their stability on a Wells Fargo Operating System images, working with Layered product owners to test where necessary, modifying packages as needed, setting guidelines where needed, automating the packages for mass consumption, and hosting and or participating in meetings to talk about the packages that have been made available. The will also be creating and or updating documentation, test plans, Threat Horizon reports, and any other relevant communication as needed for each product.
Additional responsibilities include resolving package problems escalated through Problem tickets, opening and closing CR's as needed for updates made to patching infrastructure and managing assigned hardware resources for testing in s lab environment.
Basic
Qualifications: 7
years of experience in operating systems analysis/ engineering.
Minimum
Qualifications:
7
years of Linux/UNIX Server administration
3
years of advanced UNIX/Linux scripting experience in one of the following languages: Shell Scripting, Perl, python or Ruby
Must have proven experience writing complex automated regression test scripts
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
7
years experience in web systems environments which includes web application
installations, upgrades, and deployment as well as any servers/ systems that support/ host web applications.
Knowledge in at least 3 of these middleware products:- IBM Websphere ND, Websphere Portal server, Weblogic Server OBIEE, Apache HTTPd, Apache Tomcat, IHS, IIS, with working knowable of many operating systems.
This engineer will be working directly with vendors and internal teams to ensure that we have secure and highly available packaged components that meet all of the internal security standards. On occasion, they will also be working with or directing less skilled staff on the packaging and automated deployments of the middleware components. All of the components will be finally coded in Python and deployed through HP Server Automation and HP Operations Orchestration and or any other tool that is best suited for the environment.
This engineer must have excellent communication skills and document the steps needed for other teams to follow to execute on the components that are engineered. This position requires the ability to handle many different tasks at one time with high demand on timelines. Someone with global thinking is a must, they will need to look outside of the box when build or creating code for process automation.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with automating software deployments and/or server builds.
Experience with Subversion or other source control software
Experience with HP/Opsware Server Automation (HPSA)
Experience with Puppet
Experience with Virtualization particularly with VMWare
Experience SAN and or NAS
Experience with Networking and Firewalls
