Responsibilities:
- Manages and is accountable for the performance of assigned contracts and programs. Leads complex negotiations and ensures coordination within and across internal teams (IT, Compliance, Legal, Finance, etc.)
- Provides knowledge of IT systems, products, and services and understanding of business and IT goals and strategies in developing contracts and proposals. Supports IT contracts function by effectively implementing and following through on strategic initiatives
- Leads project teams in developing negotiation approach, fallback positions and drafting of contract terms and conditions through to closure. Advises project teams, business and service owners and leadership on contract interpretation and in developing solutions and formal recommendations
- Evaluates clients contractual risk in terms of cost exposure and establishes review processes to mitigate risk during contract performance.
- Oversees and approves task planning on multiple contracts at one time. Approves resource requirements and effort estimates.
- Engages with the business and IT on business processes and practices associated with technology contracts and drive necessary policy or process changes
- May provide work direction and effort estimates for other Contracts Managers.
- Investigates and resolves compliance issues, including leading audits required by 3rd party vendors.
- Support internal IT stakeholders with supplier interface for RFI, RFP and RFQ services. Present results to the evaluation team and drive the closure of a sourcing and purchasing decision.
Minimum
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
- 10
years of Information Technology experience in large high-tech industries. 6-8 years of relationship management experience.
- Expert knowledge in the field of technology contracts negotiation and drafting (i.e. software licensing structures, License compliance issues, issue resolution)
- Proven negotiation skills
Preferred
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience in a contracts management function
- Experience providing work effort estimates for technology contracting projects
- Ability to independently draft contract language appropriate for highly complex deals
- Effective teamwork, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong presentation skills necessary to communicate and persuade a wide range of audiences
- Ability to think strategically as well as operationally/tactically
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to explain complex procedures and processes
- Action oriented, with the ability to identify, articulate, and implement opportunities
