A Technology Solutions Manager serves as the busines line owner of technical functionality to ensure that the business needs are being met while maintaining integrity of our technical tools. They are the subject matter expert (SME) for their assigned technical functionality and own it.
This could include managing requests for changes to it, supporting implementation, making recommendations for best practices, monitoring defects or issues, and decisioning approach for resolution.
Interacts directly with many areas of the CPS Business Line as well as Technical Operations and Services (TOS).
The Product Department provides strategy, sales positioning, and prioritization of the technology enhancements the TSM owns and supports.
Additionally, the TSM is the liason to the TOS partners in the new development efforts and enhancements needed to keep systems up to date and competitive in the market place.
The TSM also interacts with other internal personnel to ensure both parties understanding of current and upcoming functionality.
Finally, the TSM utilizes their analytical skills to gather business (not system) requirements, monitor development progress and timelines and drive completion of assigned projects.
A successful Technology Solutions Manager will have gained a detailed understanding of the Product offerings within BankCard Products and their associated Tools.
The individual will have successfully completed a training program, and have demonstrated successful mastery of their assigned functional area or areas.
Technology Solutions Managers will successfully ensure the product offering or technology solution adheres to the defined Product and compliance standards, and is able to proficiently identify questions and concerns in advance of a pending launch date.
The TSM may also be called upon to share knowledge with his or her peers.
The Technology Solutions Managers and Senior Technology Solutions Managers are job codes PNRD1 (Product Manager 1) through PNRD4 (Senior Product Manager 4).
A typical Technology Solutions Manager will begin at a PNRD1 or PNRD2 (grade levels 11-12), and that applicant must have the following
Qualifications:
Expertise in a single area of functionality, as well as ownership over the demo environment
Directs and monitors project activity for an assigned functional area
Ability to independently manage projects with ease and precision
Participate in meeting and task force activities to identify project goals; foster cooperation and involvement from project team, and business line impacted partners
Interviews requestors to identify and analyze needs; develops a project charter and provides input to recommendations for request and/or problem resolution
Identifies internal and/or external resources to ensure successful project completion
Prepares/updates weekly project status reports
Prepares project documentation as appropriate; provides communication of project status to business line
Participates in training users as applicable
Provides continuing subject matter expert support
Responsible for managing project activity for small to medium projects, or may be responsible for several smaller projects.
Projects require moderate problem solving.
Projects are generally completed within a Waterfall Development methodology lifecycle (10 months).
Has a good general knowledge of assigned business function and good technical skills.
Incumbent typically has a bachelor's degree and three to five years of related experience.
Progression for a Technology Solutions Manager is to move to a Senior Technology Solutions Manager 1-3.
Additional progression opportunities might be to advance to a Senior Technology Solutions Manager 3, Manager of the TSM team, or to other key roles in Relationship Management, Sales, Technology, or Product Management.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience - Eight to ten years of experience in marketing or related field - Three or more years of management experience
