Participates in the research, analysis, design, testing and implementation of complex computer network security/protection technologies for company information and network systems/applications. Assists customers in identifying security solutions for the company's networks and virtual private networks, application systems, key public infrastructures, authentication and directory services to ensure the security of the network and confidential data. Performs periodic vulnerability scans of networks to identify security vulnerabilities and provides remediation alternatives and conducts security risk assessments to ensure compliance with corporate security policies and adherence to best practices. Performs round-the-clock intrusion detection monitoring of company networks and systems. Participates in computer security incident response activities and the technical investigations of security-related incidents. Participates in the evaluation of vendor proposals, new and existing security designs, and emerging security technologies and systems. May provide technical guidance to less experienced staff.
Protect information assets through the management, administration, and monitoring of UNIX systems and security tools/toolsets in support of security-focused initiatives. This position will provide secure system development capabilities to create, automate, or enhance processes and tool sets in order to improve the overall security posture of the UNIX server landscape.
This position involves day-to-day communications with peer support groups required to maintain a secured environment. It also involves documenting security standards and procedures and staying current with state and federal legislation, regulations and internal policies and standards. It is responsible for taking corrective action for process and control vulnerabilities. It conducts risk assessment and analysis on issues for management awareness.
Basic
Qualifications: 5
years of experience in security applications and systems.
Minimum
Qualifications:
5 years experience with hands-on day to day usage and/or administration of UNIX/Linux operating systems (Solaris, Red Hat).
Demonstrated capability to engineer and to adapt existing complex Perl or Ruby applications providing enhancement, troubleshooting, and scale opportunities. Ability to create secure end-to-end applications using Perl, Ruby, mysql, or other intermediary connecting technologies.
Problem solver with strong analytical ability, debugging and troubleshooting skills for the most complex problem.
Ability to balance multiple issues/projects concurrently.
Strong communication skills both to peers and to leadership.
Understanding of SDLC.
Knowledge of version control systems and best practices.
The successful candidate will have expert knowledge in implementing changes with information security products and procedures and possess in-depth knowledge of industry security tools.
The person must be detailed oriented and excellent customer service/follow-up skills.
Excellent communication and documentation skills and a strong work ethic are required.
Must be able to work effectively, both independently and in a team environment, with ability to work in a fast paced environment, while efficiently prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Required skills include expert knowledge and in-depth experience in:
System Engineering and Development, using: Perl, Ruby, MySQL , SQL development/integration
Development Respositories and Version Control systems (SVN, git, CVS, or other)
Preferred Skills:
A Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering/science discipline or equivalent work experience.
Experience with engineering authentication tools and single sign-on capabilities.
Development experience in a Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP (LAMP) stack. Knowledge of development using Ruby, Rails, and similar web-enabled technologies.
Working experience of MySQL, Oracle, Mongo database architecture and administration. Experience with SOLR and other big data technologies.
Business continuity experience focusing on high availability and resiliancy.
Full software development lifecycle experience (SDLC) including requirements gathering, technical design, implementation, testing, rollout and maintenance.
Security Administration: Writing security plans , Root cause analysis, Log analysis and event correlation
One or more industry recognized certifications, such as GSEC or CISSP. Additional certifications in UNIX Operating System Administration
Ideal candidates will be experienced with the following security tools/tool sets: Security Administration Tools, BoKs, Powerbroker, Vintella Authentication Services (VAS)

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
