Senior Network and Systems Engineer

PURPOSE/SCOPE:
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for maintaining the design and integrity of Tennant's internal network, including internally hosted and cloud environments. They will provide expert technical assistance to team members with high-level system and networking requests. This role will be responsible designing, implementing and testing complex infrastructure in support of our customer needs.
As a member of the Engineering Team, a Senior Network Engineer will provide onsite and remote support to our clients who have critical response time requirements for their business technology systems. You will work independently and as part of a team to answer service desk calls, urgently analyze technical issues, address level two and level three escalations, work with the project managers on team related projects, and troubleshoot over the phone/onsite/via remote access.
Finally, this role will successfully demonstrate the skills required to secure and manage network infrastructures to protect productivity, and mitigate threats.
GENERAL RESPONISIBILITIES:
Document and perform maintenance for all network infrastructure, and management tools
Perform network assessments and security audits
Participate in the administration and maintenance of the remote monitoring and management system: respond to alerts, monitor dashboard, and periodic system review
Communication with end users as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages
Assist with deployment and troubleshooting Cisco Call Manager, Unified Messaging and Telepresence
Be available for other system and platform engineers and coach them to resolution, and root-cause analysis.
Manage virtualization technology for voice and network systems using VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V
Remote access solution support: VPN, Terminal Services
Remote monitoring and management of system alerts and notifications
Digital certificate management for all network systems and applications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with Cisco CCNA, CCNP or CCDP certifications
Solid understanding of network fundamentals, security, QOS and TCP/IP planning.
Working knowledge Cisco networking equipment required
Knowledge of security and monitoring utilizing ISE, and ScanSafe preferred.
Switching (Capacity Planning & VLAN's)
Cisco ASA Firewall's with SourceFire modules and standalone appliances
Routing (EIGRP, BGP)
WAN Technology (MPLS, DMVPN)
Cisco Nexus (LAN and SAN)
Voice Technologies (SIP, POTS & RTP)
Familiarity with: IPSec VPN, VoIP, SIP, BGP, VLAN and large-scale wireless deployments, specifically using Cisco Wireless Controllers and PRIME Infrastructure
F5 local traffic manager (LTM)
Security software such as and Advanced Threat Protection tools, specifically Cisco SourceFire products & Cloud Web Security
