mGage is currently looking for a talented Business Intelligence Developer with 3
years of experience for the Global Technology Operations Team. The Business Intelligence Developer will work on the development of a next generation Business Intelligence platform. This position will be responsible for gathering technical requirements working with business leaders, developing analytic products in our new platform to provide actionable insights using Snowflake, Looker and other cutting-edge tools. Ideal candidate is a person who is detail orientated, data driven, and has a strong passion for understanding data and learning.
This position is responsible for developing features on our streaming data platform as well as visual analytics to help provide insights into the business.
Required Skills:
Solid background using Business Intelligence Tools (Qlickview, Power Pivot, SSRS, Hadoop, Spark)
Critical thinking skills with the ability to take complex challenges and devise solutions in a fast-paced environment
Maintain familiarity with data models to troubleshoot quality issues
Good skillset for performing data analysis and dealing with data quality issues
History of proactively researching technical subject to obtain insight and knowledge around reporting requests
Ability to gather information about business processes and regulatory issues
Strong organizational skills covering tracking conversations, decisions, reports delivered and progress through simultaneous projects
Strong inter-personal communication and the ability to facilitate group discussions aimed at resolution, being comfortable presenting to small to medium sized audiences that frequently include leadership and peers, discussing analytic/data requests with end users with varying backgrounds
Comfortable with asking for help and asking clarifying and refining questions related to tasks at hand
Practical understanding of basic data science, understanding how data flows from source to destination, how relational tables can be queries and joined, data formatting, and the ability to work in a NoSQL environment
Proven eagerness to learn new technologies, services and data models
Strong knowledge of SQL
Preferred Skills:
Experience in a NoSQL environment
Experience with Hadoop and similar distributed computing technology
Experience with ETL tools (ODI, SSIS, Informatica)
